All the films this year(but one) are light and pleasant, feel good movies. The one exception is Waltz with Bashir, a masterpiece but heavy and difficult.
All are good and are recommended. In the unlikely event that you can't see them all, here are some personal tips to help you choose:
Eli & Ben -
14 years old boy that, in addition to the problems of adolescence, is confronted with matures world problems. Entertaining, amusing and at the same time touching.
Waltz with Bashir -
Innovative and different, an excellent animation work. Rightfully deserves all the awards. Not to be missed.
Lost Islands -
What starts as a maturation film of young adolescent, full of laughter and nonsense becomes a touching drama.
James' Journey to Jerusalem -
A satirical look on our materialistic society. Funny and disturbing.
Ushpizin - A glance to the Jewish Orthodox world in Jerusalem made with love and appreciation. Interesting and enjoyable.
Bonjour Mr. Shlomi -
The life of a crazy family that turns around a youngster provides many funny and touching moments. A pleasant film.
Salt of the Earth -
A thriller that puts in question the myth of old combatants' friendship and makes you think what you would have done in their place.
Three Mothers -
A marvelous mixture of a family saga, wonderful songs and a mystery.
Very enjoyable.
